my average ping for the past few days my ping has been ridiculously high (averaging around 800 or 900). tech support has come to my house about 3 times to try to fix it, but they still havent figured it out. they thought they got it when they disconnected my wireless router and my ping dropped to 100ish so they left, and when i did another ping test with just the modem connected to my computer it hit 956. idk what to do, so is there anyone on AM that can help me?
oh and i use road runner turbo (the fastest they have) if you guys need any more information please let me know and i will get it for you.

well i have fiberglass internet over here with 100mb/ps download and my ping is like 90 or 100 but normally its like 45-50. it started today idk why.....
my downloading speeds are lame as hell to.

i have like 5-8 ping
but a not too fast dl 5mb

Could someone be stealing some of your packests? Thats why they though they fixed it when they disconnected the wirlesless. Maybe a bad cable somewhere too. Just tell the IT support that your going to sue them for suck internet unless they fix it :)

Sometimes it can be a bad cable. i remember when my internet was like 23Kb/s when i was paying for 30Mb/s because my DSL line wasn't fully connected to the house. it was barely hanging on the guy had to fix it.

they replaced everything, and it happens with or without the wireless eventually... but i figured out the problem. my cousin came over and used my lappy and he used utorrent. it turns out that even when i restarted my computer it was still seeding. I didnt know it did that, if it is supposed to. you may call me stupid (i kinda am for not considering that) but yeah... it was utorrent. go ahead and lock when you guys get a chance as the problem has been solved.

also with ur lappy its a good idea to shut off the wifi. i know some lappys it will eat up uir batt when ur lappys off

lol my laptop is plugged in most of the time. i dont ever have to worry about batteries XD
