is there anything that would let me use my laptop as a more video ram? my integrated graphics card is 32 mb and that doesnt quite cut it. are there any solutions like an external card or something that i can use? thanks for the help ^_^

there is supposed to be a solution for Ati cards but it was available only for one laptop. So basically no , for your laptop there is no solution. what do you need it for though ? if it is for accelerating HD video playback , i can suggest the Broadcom BCM70012 Mini PCIe Card. Else you could also wait a bit coz the Nvidia ION2 is also rumored to be available in Mini PCie format so you maybe able to install it in your laptop. If the lappy doesnt have a spare slot then you can just remove the wifi card and use an external wifi dongle...

i need it for light gaming... this rig barely runs WoW >.<

yeah.. then your only bet is to wait and hope that Ion 2 comes in a Mini PCIe format coz thats your only bet. Which laptop is it btw , its a long stretch but maybe if the card is a MMX type then you MIGHT be able to replace it... thats a very big if though.

Options:
Upgrade yourslef, if you can find the time and the card to do it.
Sell your laptop and buy a new one.
Add more ram (the card usually shares with on-board ram so the more ram you have the faster, however quality wont be affected, just speed.
Here is ION if you would like to take a look. http://www.nvidia.com/object/sff_ion.html (http://www.nvidia.com/object/sff_ion.html)

Laptop graphics cards are on board 90% of the time.
Adding system RAM won't help the graphics RAM out.

Hmmm... i'm starting to doubt if ION would work too....
@Kicks : dude... the ION is Atom compatible , the atom itself is an x86 chip... but do you think the ION would work with higher level CPUs like the Pentiums/core 2 Duos etc.... ???
-
Seems like it does work with core 2 duos, check the specs on this one:

It's not a laptop but it does work with higher end CPUs
