Title: can i fix this and does anyone know how before i buy it

Post by: TwisTtheTwiTcH on January 10, 2010, 01:40:43 PM: Yes you can fix it. If it is what I think it is, it'll be easy. Start it in safe mode and you'll have a few simple choices to pick from. Check my tut here in the PS3 section. Worst case borrow a hard drive from a friends ps3 and copy there data. They didn't give a whole lot of detail. Grab the PS3 and shoot me a PM when you get it and I can help you more.

Post by: krazyone2006 on January 10, 2010, 02:53:19 PM: ok got it got it home booted it up its wanting me to put the 3.10 update on a usb stick and hit start and select at the same time downloading the update now will let everyone know how it goes yay i got a PS3 finally LOL keeping my fingers crossed LOL

ok that didn't work got the update off a sony's website and put it on a usb stick and it just says

No applicable update data was found
Connect storage media that contains update data version 3.10 or later abd then press start and select at the same time

gives it to me everytime i try to read the update off the 2 gig usb stick any clue anyone

Post by: krazyone2006 on January 10, 2010, 05:13:51 PM: i had to download the latest update for the PS3 firmware from sonys website put it in a update folder inside a folder labeled PS3 stuck it in the ps3 usb port hit select and start at the same time when it said to and it reformated the harddrive and installed the update and now i got a brand new 120 gig ps3 for $150 oh yay for me and thanks to twist

god i love craigslist LOL

AND IF I COULD ADD 1,000,000,000 POST POINTS TO TWIST I WOULD LOL

Post by: TwisTtheTwiTcH on January 10, 2010, 08:20:11 PM: I PMed krazy with instructions to not just put the system update on the flash drive but to make a folder titled "PS3" in the root of the drive and within that folder make another folder titled "UPDATE" and then to put the update file within that folder and to then follow the instructions already given.
