Title: help e74/red ring (I kno how 2 fix, just need help)

well another free xbox givin 2 me yay...condition has e74 but not hard 2 fix I just break out my extra xclamp fix (knew it would come in handy) heatgun and arctic silver... Yay e74 gone, but now RROD so I check the error code and it comes up 0030, temperature control problem now this is where I'm puzzled wat is a way 2 check if this is one of the temp control moniters is messed up or if mabye I didn't xclamp rite. Thx in advance AM members =D

as a general rule of thumb. if a mate givs me a e74 to fix.... i dont evan bother. as e74 is the death of all xbox's..... evan if you can fix it'll come back worse then before......... thats just my thoughts though.....

if you only have E74 I would not do the xclamp...(just my openion) as the E74 is from the hana chip and not associated with the xclamps. its hard for me to tell if this is a faulty xclamp job or a reflow problem with the hana chip. sounds like the therma sensor is tripping.....you do have the fan conected right? make sure its not damaged in any way. (thats where I would start)

yea fan works fine but idk wats wrong I'm thinkin of just cutting the trace 2 the temp moniter. Or would that be a bad idea?

I think thats part of the problem it if the heat sensor is reading nothing it will cause rrod. same with fan not hooked up it will cause rrod. 

rrod = hardware failure...

I had a e74 console in pieces, and I have been gaming on it for 6months now no problem, I think mine had somthing to do with the gpu.

ghost did yours have red ring with error code 0030/e12? and thats a damn good sig lol just had to point that out

Thanks man :D. Um no I got it as a rrod console and when I booted it up it said e74 so I striped it apart and used a 42 volt fan to run acrioss the gpu after reflowing the mobo and to my surprise it works like a charm.
