Title: 360 D-pad/ psp nub hybred

ok guys this is a new concept for a D-pad replacment on the 360 pad. after a bit of thought i decided i'd need to use a A2D or Razor-x.. but then i saw this (https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,34409.0.html) thread from Wetfusion (https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=7787) and decided to try that method....

here you can see the ground ring and 4 contacts i made

and closed back up

so that was the nub prepared. after that i wired it to my pad for a quick test

it worked

now for the case prep... i simply removed the old D-pad, used a dremel to remove the ridge in the d-pad housing then drilled a small hole for my wires to run through

glued the nub in place over it

these are the contacts i exposed and tinned to wired the nub to

and wired up

 then closed back up in the pad

i am planning on getting a psp case to chop up as a cover plate for this... but it'll do for now

Done this mod ages ago. I used a razor x board though.

Very nice little mod, Need a nice method to fill in the rest of the dpad area though. Your gona file down a psp case? that should look very nice.

Umm can you order PSP nub spares?

yeah i hope to get a white psp case with a similar fell/look to the 360 pad and just cut and sand it to a perfect fit over the old dpad housing to tidy it up a bit.....

umm if ya mean will it work with any psp nub.... then yeah i think it willl. i got my nubs off of ebay for a few £££

You can find every type of psp analog stick on dealextreme for 2-3$.

I don't know if i should try this mod or not... Can i use a psp nub without taking it apart? Any ways to make it look better?

no u need to take the nub apart...... it may be easier to do with a razor-x in stead of wetfusions method.....

and as for making look better

I read it but i don't have the tools to do that, i'll order one nub as they are so cheap.
