Title: Friend gave me a 360

Ok so a friend of mine gave me an old 360 he had lying around. He said the disk drive went out of it. So ofcoarse he took it out and threw it away. So needless to say I have a 360 with no disk drive. Is this just a parts piece now? Meaning its good for nothing but taking parts off of? I have heard that you need the original motherboard from the disk drive. Is that correct? Is this 360 able to be put back into working order? Thanks in advance.

i think you need the drive key. not sure if there is a way to get it without the original drive

short answer: its junk

long answer: it involves spending more money than the xbox is worth, do you realy want to hear it?

If you know how to jtag a console and install xbreboot it displays the dvd key which you can flash to a drive if wanted or just use a externall hdd for it.

yeah if the xbox hasnt been on live in the last 6 months, you could possibly JTAG it and get the DVD Key. But its not an easy process.

Thanks for the replies to everyone!! Yeah the xbox hasnt been on live and has the old dashboard. I was talking with a guy on AM that is going to Jtag it and get the key. So thanks again for all your responses.
