I cant really think of where else to put it so imma gonna put it here...
I recently got a pair of Sony MDR-XD200 headphones from my grandad because they were broken... I know how to fix because all that was wrong was that all the wires in the "L" side had come off (desoldered). However, that leaves me with the conundrum of where the hell do all these wires go! (5 of em) I really don't want to have to get out a piece of paper and colour down all the combinations possible and try them because I fear I'm going to be sat down for a good 2+ hours otherwise! all I'm asking really is that if anyone has a pair of these then PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE open up the "L' headphone and take a pic of the wiring. (to take it apart there are about 3 screws hidden under the cusion pad)
I've even tried Sony support asking for a wiring diagram!!! Im that desperate!
Just want to try and get these working cause my last pair broke and I have no money for new ones!
so final note...
:beg: PHOTO PLEASE!!! :beg:

well idk if i can help... i do fix junked headphones..acouple of my friends started trashing there skull candy headphone ...IDK why..they all worked awesomely... only issue cats chewed on there cords.. so i did a simple and quick cord swap.
I haved worked on a noise cancelling headphone... a phillip SBC-HN110
so i might can help..first i dont have any headphone like that one.. im sure if new would have costed a nice shinny quater
I would need a picture of the inside of the headphone, wireing and all.... if its anything like my noise cancelling headphone the main wireing i would need to see would be on the Right.... either case post the left and right wiring or shoots of where the wiring goes
im sure if you knw by now the blue or green and red wire are +.... the yellow or white are - ..... this are the four main wireing for sound..... on the speaker there usually a mark in green or red to indicate posative connection

How Do You Fix Headphones
I Am A Noob To Fixing Headphone
Any Picture or help is appreciated
-
alot of times when you have a headphone the left or right side die's its not cause of the speakers its wireing..
they get what is knwo as a knot or a broke with in the wiring
to solve this issue you have to open the ehadphone, desolder the wiring and get a new cord
I usually buy a stock hold of cheap dallor store, store blowout headphone..both in ear and over ear sets
take the cheap but bought headohone apart and desolder the connection line... they should look like this

i marked the connection polaritys so you know
The postative is always ganna be colored and the negative is ganna be white/yellow/gold
resodler the connection and whala a referbished headphone :)

Yes that helps alittle :) ty
Hmm tri cord. well green and red are both + and the gold one is -
I think most likely you would have to solder the red connection to the speaker, the gold to the speaker and the green to another connection
Idk, do you have one external connection the wire with the red and green and gold connection and then another two set that leads to the trim or the thing that sits over your head that leads to the other side?.... Im not sure i cant tell with your shots
Do me another favor and take a shot of your headphones but the whole thing... those are way to close and only show the speaker and the ends of the wireing...
i need to see more to know how i can help you fix them :)

You guys got everything 100% very well correct, but i would like to add that AC current (sound signals to speaker) doesn't necessarily have a positive or negative. It's always alternating... (AC)... Alternating Current.
</smartass>
-
ty fookz :) i didnt know that the sound signal is Alternative :) i always thought its direct with a p.w. pulse wave..
Fookz is right you can flip flop the connection wiring it wont cause any damage or conflicts
i always use what i see in the connection.. if the red wire is on one side of the magnet i mark it cause i dont want to stray away from what i see...
:) i learn something new everyday
-
I classify 4 different types of signals/current:
- DC (direct current)
- AC (alternating current)
- PDC (Pulsating Direct Current)
- P/NAC (positive/negative alternating current)
