For the month of March, I personally plan on eating/drinking as healthy as possible, and I invite AND challenge all of you to do the same.

My own rules:
• No Soda
• No Candy (not even sugar free)
• Essentially all junk food prohibited (ice cream, cheetos, chips etc)
• Any food that has little or no nutritional value

These are my own rules, I don't expect anyone to hold themselves to these, but how many of you can stay sugar free for an entire month!

I'd like to see some people attempt this, and at the very least support me as I do this, I know this will be a challenge for me ;)

ALSO! Invite anyone and everyone you think would participate in this, it's up to you guys to get the word out from here...

Now's your chance to add me on facebook (add a personal note with acidmods and your username) as well as getting that much healthier before spring... anyone up to the challenge?

Good idea; I think I might be in. I've already been soda-free for about a month now, but the tricky part is the chips and junk food.

The idea behind it is to substitute that with a fruit juice or water, but yeah if you substitute regular with sugar free then it works.  Why not take it one step further though... :)

Good luck!

I won't do this myself, primarily because I believe people should enjoy the sweet things in life, nutrition be damned. Life is short, enjoy it. Sugar and all.

But I support personal goals. Perseverance is an excellent quality.

Alternative to soda (http://fresh.amazon.com/product?asin=B000QWXIBK&searchId=24239461)
Alternative to candy (http://blogs.webmd.com/healthy-recipe-doctor/2006/10/frozen-mango-winter-godsend.html)

Alternative to greasy potato chips:
1. Get unsalted, plain tortilla chips, one jalapeno, 1/4 red onion, and some shredded cheese (or shred your own!)
2. Get a metal baking pan and place a sheet of aluminum foil on top of it.
3. Place tortilla chips onto the foil, as many as possible.
4. Cut the jalapeno into thin circle slices. Then cut into quarter-circles
5. Cut the onion into small, cube-sized pieces.
6. Sprinkle a tiny bit of shredded cheese onto the chips - TINY
7. Place 1-2 quarter pieces of jalapeno onto each chip, ideally on the cheese.
8. Sprinkle onions over the chips.
9. Add some more cheese on top of each chip
10. Pre heat oven.
11. Place tray with chips on it into oven until cheese barely melts. - Hardly 5 minutes.

Enjoy with salsa and/or sour cream or yogurt. The onions provide sweetness as a foil for the jalapeno spiciness. The cheese is for taste and to hold everything on the chip. Advice for picking jalapenos: the straighter the stem, the milder the chili. Extremely spicy jalapenos have curved stems. Also, to reduce the spiciness of any jalapeno, remove the seeds.

I think the hardest part of all of this is giving up beer/partying, although I think it may be hindering my exercise routines so it'll be interesting to see how this works...
Been doing this for years, pop them in the microwave for 25 seconds and their done :)

I generally have a healthy diet except I drink copious amounts of coca cola and I smoke, but other than that it's squeaky clean!

I think i eat way too much in general but someday it will catch up to me and i'll be a fat arse for life. Energy Drinks are the worse part of my diet. -- Need to cut those down nevertheless.
