Title: First time modder, having issues

I'm new to this whole PSP mod stuff thanks to my roommate. I got a PSP 3001 off a friend who ended up buying a new one just so he could get a clean factory stock housing on it as this one's worn and am having some issues. I'm just taking the thing apart to get use to the insides but this piece fell off while removing the LCD. It's long and silver with a tab on one side stamped "F1" any idea where it goes? I find a lot of vids showing the dis-assembly but not this part.

Side note, I can't find that many 3000 model housings any good places online that carry them that anyone would recommend? I've googled my ass off but can't find a housing that I'm dying to have. I've been considering just keeping it plane white with clear buttons and doing some LED work on it, but I'm still looking at my options.

Im not sure about the metal piece since i dont remember seeing a F1 but i believe that it sits in the little gap at the very top front of the psp to hold in the LCD. Hope i got it right.

Side note:

My firmware is 6.XX (XX = some numbers I can't remember) is it possible to downgrade these like the old PHATS?

It's the long metal piece across the top. The side that says F1 goes on the left.

Yes you can downgrade the phat with pandora battery and memory stick.
