Congratulations to all XBOX 360 owners! IW has announced that you will be able to purchase the new map pack on March 30th. This map pack is likely the same one that was shown by us last week. At the moment, the release date for the PS3 and PC has not been announced yet. Or perhaps the map pack won’t even be out on the PC? As IGN said: March 9, 2010 – Infinity Ward has finally put a date on the first Modern Warfare 2 map pack. Those anxious for an expansion to Modern Warfare 2 will only have to wait until March 30th…if you have the XBOX 360 version of the latest Call of Duty instalment. As announced at last year’s E3 trade show, the downloadable content will come to XBOX Live first. The announcement of the release date was given through the cleverly named mapathy.com, which gives no indication as to when the maps will be coming to the PS3 or how much this download will cost. IGN made no mention of the PC version. So either they forgot that there is a PC version, or (paid?) DLC won’t be coming to the PC. I truly can’t pick which one is more likely. You can check fourzerotwo's twitter for more info as he seems to be alive again click read more for the loading screens of the map pack it seems our video gave IW a little kick to move on and it looks like it did the trick there will be part 2 like we said showing more of each map but in any case get them microsoft points ready!

Storm
Crash (Original Modern Warefare)
Overgrown (Original Modern Warefare)
Complex
Compact
Also there will be new gamemodes. Global Thermonuclear War, One Flag, Vip and Arena.

Thank god I have a 360 haha. I happen to love crash and overgrown so I will certianly be trying to find the money to purchase the map pack. I'm interested to see the new maps as well. Hopefully they won't be as closed close combat maps like the current ones.

Some of them are There is also a "White House" map that is not legit yet. it will most likley cost around 800 microsofr points. it will be mych more fun now that there are going to be more multiplayer maps!!

It is confirmed that the relase date is March 30th and it is comming to XBOX LIVE 1st

I would actually like for them to bring back a lot of the things from COD4, just the online :censored: ya know? Like if any of you bought Halo ODST, they gave you a whole new campaign and some extra :censored: but still gave you the good old Halo 3 online with all the maps. They should just add a lot of the :censored: from COD4 to MW2. I'd certainly play it more then I currently have been.

I have to agree bring it back! oldskool was fun i loved being able to pick up more than one perk of the same class like stopping power and doubbletap in the one level (the name escapes me okay) but untill march 30th.....

(last night it was full from 12 till about 4 and it was a bloodbath, so join up if you want to play a diffrent kind of MWF2 (no killkam, half life, fast health respawn, no force respawn, free cam, UNLIMITED time/score) the game is usually team deathmatch or free-for-all or dommination but, im open to suggestions)) well hope to see you there

idk if this has been said. but yea it should come to pc. the pc people saw that on the cd theres extra maps and thos are the map add ons. so u already have the maps u just pay to unlock them... thats what i read on some site

I can't even play MW2...I turn my 360 on...it signs into live...I press 'A' to play MW2 the game starts up..then disconnects from live and says "a new update is available"...I press 'A' to update it...but can't coz xbox live is disconnected...and if I press 'B" to not update...xbox live comes back on .... WTF

update, its up but not without issues.... private match is not working... telling me communication with LIVE are out... cant even get into a match

so what does everyone think of the new maps? I personally am not all that pleased. First you can only play the levels in the stimulus game type, which is basically ground war sorta with more game types and smaller teams. You rarely play team deathmatch. I was never a big fan of crash in cod4 so I don't know why they brought that back. I think the only map I really absolutely like in the new pack is Salvage.

I love them, yea its kinda annoying that it is all in the stimlus/hardcore stimlus mosh pit playlists. But meh I like the mix of games, keeps you on your toes. Cod 4 maps bring back some of the good old memorys of nights up with freinds playing search, in better graphics than cod 4. I will get used to the new mw2 maps, (I original dislike maps when I am new to them, as I don't camp much and and unused to which corners to check ect.)
best of all, INFINITY WARD listened to people other than americans for once, we finally got a decent local search here :D :D. No more playing on lagging yank hosts. Pulled of a triple collateral in my second game, never would have been able to do that with a yank host.
All in all great job infinity ward, good to see they are still functioning with the 2 heads fired from the team.

these maps and game modes have allways been in the game. the release download was just a key to unlock them.
