Hey acidmods,
Today I started playing Bass(as title says lol), I bought it last night. I had originally planned on picking up my guitar again, but I decided not to because it wasnt very fun lol.
Anyway, I bought an Ibanez GSR200 (Blurpble) 4 string jazz and preccesion pickups, as well as an Active-bass boost, and a Kuston KB20(same as acoustic B20) its a 20W 12" bass amp. the total cost was $350 and the salesman snuck in a high quality 20' 1/4" cable as well as a guitar strap :)(they would be an extra $50 but he was happy to see somebody purchasing a bass). The best part, is that I am already in a band, two of my friends were like "hey if you start playing bass, you can play with us" and they are pretty good at their instruments.
Well, to the point...
I am looking for two(2) things;
- Good Tablature Writing Software, such as Guitar pro...but free
- Some sort of youtube tutorial or something like that on basics
I can already do fingerstyle, but I want to learn slap/pop

Are you able to read base cleff?

I play tuba...yues

Never knew that the tuba was in base. I play cello and guitar

I played the upright bass for 3 years and the bass guitar for 5 years. I stopped playing when i went in the military. You can find good videos on the internet that will teach you how to read notes and tabs. And honestly the best way to learn how to play is on your own. Dont go to guitar lessons because there a waste of money. Everything i know about the bass i taught myself, and i suggest you do the same. Go to a local guitar store and buy a cheap beginner book on tabs or notes.

meh just dl guitar pro from the usual places!
you already played guitar before,so the only thing you need to learn is the slapping and plucking techniques.
It's good that you learned guitar first so your not tied down to the bass,and also your finger coordination is much better than a bassists (in general).It's like when i pick up a bass (I've played guitar for 7 years now) and start mashing it up at the speed of light the other bassists are like "HOLY SH*T WTF?!?".Guitar is still by far my first love (play lead in a band),but the bass is still pretty awesome!
