Title: Finished Up Case Mod
Post by: SPARCT on March 31, 2010, 10:10:13 AM
Wassup fellas!  I just finished up my latest case mod and I thought I would share it to see what others think.  Here's the details:

- 512MB Jasper Arcade (Sept 2009)
- Custom paint / airbrush paint job using HOK paints

I've got over 24HRS in the paint job and airbrushing, but it really came off nice.  I decided to stick with a black and white theme.  The white is HOK base white and the skulls have been painted in HOK base black.  I decided not to do a window mod because I really didn't want it to detract from the paint job.  I painted the side grills and hard drive the same HOK black to ensure everything looks nice together.  I've done 20+ case mods and this is by far one of my favorites, it really makes me sad to sell it.

Thanks for looking and let me know what you think.  I hope whoever buys it likes it as much as I do.

How do I do that?  I went into the BST thread, but the reply button wasn't there for me to reply that I accepted the terms.  I haven't requested the group yet because it said to accept the terms first.

Thanks

you have to join the group first.

Ah gotcha.  The instructions in one place to acknowledge the thread AND then request group membership.  The tutorials section says I need to join to the group first, so I did that.  Sorry about the confusion, I just read one place.

I've got about 7 case mods I'm working on right now, so having an place to advertise and sell my work would be great!  Thanks Matt

Thanks for all the compliments guys, it makes the hard work worth while.  I'm currently working on quite a few more, though I'm not sure they'll top this one.

Crazy:
I'd be happy to paint your case.  I can normally accommodate just about anything.  I'll do anything from basic and mild to crazy and wild.

Thanks again for the kind words.  It's been on ebay for 3 days now and with less than 24HRS to go I really don't think it'll sell.  I've had a few questions and low ball offers, but nothing serious.  No worries though, it'll find a good home...or at least I hope.

No offence, but this isnt really worthy for a tip to any news site. It's a stencil that you can buy online, that I also own, and made an xbox using it.
The stencil name is lucky 13 or something like that, notice the lower right-hand corner where it says "13" on the skull
I'm not saying you suck, but just that its not all that special.

This is my friends xbox (which was in terrible shape, note the scratches)
That I painted under 5 mins, excluding clear coat drying time.
Also, the giant white spot is flash from the camera lol

Even if it is a stencil, it came out REALLY NICE.

Treemty:

No offense taken.  I never stated it was free hand work, and yes it is a stencil.  Unlike your Xbox though, I use the stencil to create my own designs and meshes, it's not just laid down and sprayed in one solid shoot like the case shown above.  There's no softening of the edges or attempting to blend anything in, which is where the work comes in.  Nothing against your case, just stating the obvious.

Thanks

I am glad that you were not offended, it did come out great, I just wanted to say that next time it would be nice if you posted that it was a stencil, or had a link to it.

a white ring of lights and white led vents would make it sick in dim lighting!

hmm... i've seen that stencil before. i would recommend a little more detail work, blending the different parts of the stencil better to make it look more natural. good luck though, hope it sells
