well.. its time to ask for help.. i just wasted 8 hours of figuring this out but still i dont know how to fix it..
first,, everything are ok except for this thing..
see this..
Video030.mp4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEWbRvVXoUQ#)
here is a clearer video about my problem..
Video034.mp4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXPR5i20A80#)
notice when i touch the backplate near where i placed my lm386, the leds just gets very bright! and i dont know why! :(
do i have magic hands? hope you can help me guys..
-
its hitting another ground somewhere
-
im not hitting any contacts men.. im just touching the backplate.. ive make it all sure that i did not hit anything... i just dont know when i press softly my hand to the backplate , it suddenly brights up..

the answer you got is the correct one. you have an led or an open ground sitting against another ground point, when you apply a small bit of preassure it is making contact and pulling more power through the leds.

is this the thing your refering to?
so how do i fix this?
the weird thing also is when i try to push it with another plastic it does not bright up.. it only brightens up when using my finger..
and THE MOST WEIRD THING IS when my finger still havent reached the backplate (like it is 1cm away) it starts to be bright! is that normal?
-
It sounds as if it's picking up your body's electrostatic charge.
BTW. Easiest way to create rapidfire. (Old style xbox 360 controllers only). Same as the oldtwo wires + switch, just without the switch. Can even be done with just trigger wire.
-
does that thing even exist? x( i'm just noob about that things..
so do you know how can i fix it?
-
i think it is because of the electrostatic charge from your body just like hiddenvenom says
try using some tape ;) anti electrostatic tape ;) aka PVC tape ;) it's a thick tape
cover the parts that you put inside the psp (especially behind the place where you are touching the psp on the backplate)
-
The electro-static discharge you all are talking about is right. XD its just your body picking up radio signals in the air and feeding it into your circuit.
If you have ever put your finger on an oscilloscope probe and turned the scope's voltage sensitivity to the Nano-Volts scale you can see the radio waves in your body that goes through the o-scope to ground. Its pretty cool yet its a pain in the butt for your circuit.
FETs and Transistors have these kinds of problems.
-
no,no,no I dont buy it, everyone has a static charge yes, but it is not affecting his psp. thats just obsurd. of the thousands of psp's that have been modded on this site this guy is the only person whos bosy puts off enough current to affect the circut..no.
remember each led has a stripped + and - on it if the face of the led is against something, it can cause a short. i would guess you have a led sitting against the mobo and the slight added preassure of you touching it is causing it to make contact.

Thats where i ended my conclusion.
Signal is being passed from his hand to the LM386, then the OP AMP is amplifying the interference thus brightening his LEDs.
-
this guy must be like magnito or something
of the thousands of psp's that have come through this site this is a first. I assume it is theroretically posible, but the current is traveling through the non conductive plastic case.
you dont have a 9v battery shoved up your bum do you?
but I guess thisa is the only logical solution.
when you eleminate the imposible, the only thing left no matter how irrational it may be, it must be the answer.
see if it works if someone else touches it.

Electrostatic energy does have a magnetic field, does it not? Very slight. Maybe that it what is channelling through the case and being converted to mV through the LM386.
Hey, it's totally possible.
-
Voltage doesn't flow. Current does. Voltage is based upon electric lines of flux. Voltage can only be induced in some sort of conductor.

It's the same sort f thing as if you put an electrc guitar hack against your hand when it's plugged in and it buzzes.
-
thanks for answering people! i appreciate it! :) thanks also for FOOKz video.. it gave me a much better understanding..
so here is another clearer video.. showing another finger not touching my psp..

so i should agree about the electro-static discharge thing... T_T
by the way guys? why does this thing happened? when my previous mod just the same like this did not experience this electro-static discharge thing?
-
Check the circuit isn't touching the metal ring on the back. That may be the cause. Otherwise it could be touching the UMD metal holder thing (technical term) and that would have the same affect.

exactly, as fookz shows there is an electro magnetic charge, but it averaged around 0.25V I think the highest I saw it hit was 0.4V your psp leds are running at 5V your video seems to have alot more then a 0.2-0.4V cahnge.

wouldnt this be an open circut or a short as I have been describing all along?? i wonder if one of the legs from the Lm 386 are touching the metal sheld from the memory card slot, acting as an antena?? IDK
-
But it lights up when not touching it. The metal parts just pick up the discharge.
-
i've checked everything.. trying to put more electrical tape so that the amp is well covered..
if all else fails.. :( i will try to change the amp..
