hi guys ok so this summer im going backpacking..... i've got a cheap little notebbok to take with me, a camera n Mp3 player.... but my current phone barely ha enough battery life for 2days.. so is no good for me for my trip....
im thinking bout get some form of android phone.. preferably cheaply... and i've heard android phones can be used as a plug in wii fii adapter for laptops (so i can use the laptop to surf the net nearly everywhere for free) im i right in thinking this??? and can you guys reccomend any phone ???

Solar panel chargers lol good part for camping

definately replace your camera and mp3 player with a brandy new droid. Battery life is definately going to be an issue no matter what so I would also look into solar panal charger that you can sew to your pack.
with a brand new droid and larger extra battery you could probably last quite a few days without a charger. Make sure to remove battery when stuff isnt in use to make the best of battery life

get a ipad lol 10 hours battery of full use and 30 days standby. or also get one of these - http://www.talkmarket.com/Voltaic-Systems-Solar-Backpack/1439/ (http://www.talkmarket.com/Voltaic-Systems-Solar-Backpack/1439/)

This. http://www.ladyada.net/make/mintyboost/ (http://www.ladyada.net/make/mintyboost/)
And some AA batteries.
I built it and it's fantastic, it charges both my ipod and my mobile and batteries last quite long.

Almost any phone can do this. It's called tethering. Any phone with internet should be able to tether.
I recommend the MyTouch3G if you need a semi cheap Android phone just to use on the trip...

i wont really need a phone that much... more of internet access... (tethering) preferably... as i dont get along with using the net on small screens .....and still then i wont need it that much as i will be travelling around popualted areas where wii fii is everywhere...
so basically im looking for a cheapish android that can teather easilly and has a half decent camera n mp3 player.... im a bit behind on phones.... im still using a old samsung work site phone.. (it bounces when i drop it off of roofs and what not at work)

Again: Pretty much any phone can tether as long as it's enabled by your provider.

You repeated that you want an Android phone that can tether, but I'm just pointing out that you don't need an Android phone to tether (since that the most important thing you're going to be doing).
Pretty much all Android phone are expensive. I'd hate to see someone buy an expensive phone and not use it to its full potential, ya know? It would be a waste of money, in my opinion.
If you must have an Android phone, maybe the Cliq would be good for you. It's fairly cheap, runs Android, can tether (check with your provider, of course), and a 5mp camera. Not sure about the music player, as I haven't used the Android one before.
Edit:
And relax, man. I just don't want to see you waste money on a good phone if it won't be used much lol
