Title: PIC12F683 COPIED
Post by: sikkwidditt on May 29, 2010, 11:38:34 AM
Is there anyway I could copied the programmed PIC12F68 to my new virgin PIC. and also is there any way I could see the source code inside of my programmed chipped. Is there any way around to view it if theres a copy protection?

Your question is kind of weird.  First off yes you can view the code on a programmed chip if the chip  was not programmed with code protect.  Second, if you dont want anybody to read a code your putting on a chip, then use code protect.  Pretty much if your using code protect it means your selling. :eyebrow:

I think what he is asking is, if he has a chip with code already on it and it is protected. Can he get the code off of it or make a duplicate of it if it is protected? Cloning the chip, basically. If that were the case, I would have about 30 360 wireless headsets that I would be able to fix. The SOIC chips are damaged and cannot be duplicated. Although, I have heard of this company, (don't know the name) in China that can crack the protection.

Well im sure its possible to crack the code protect on a chip, but i have no clue how...  Hackers make anything possible :hifive:

Not if the fuses where blown when it was programed. Try and read the pic if it works save the hex then write it to your other pic, if it doesn't the chances are the fuses are blown and there is no way to read the code.

copying a microcontroller that is code protected is stealing code... no different then downloading games and burning them to play on cracked consoles.  we dont support that at Acidmods, if it not code protected you should be able to read it from your programmer. topic closed
