Wow. What a tool. He just left himnself open to legal action using the video and name of the mod blatantly.

Here is what i have heard from others here. Its a opensource code therefore i doubt legal action can be taken because it was released to the public giving it  to use for any one. However I'm not the one to answer this I'm sorta quoting that from others.

Open source code can be covered by a general public license or other open souce license which, while available to the public for use, when extorted is treated like a breach of copyright. (Jacobsen v. Katzer) This all depends on whether the owner of the code has licensed it though (good idea if you want it available for free use but dont want cheap:censored:s making a profit off of it).  If anything though the fact that he is using acidmods videos without permission definitely puts him in trouble.

Thats more of what I meant. Spookhunter is correct about the open-source licence (which none of us here care enough to bother). Its not the code that is blatnt, that is simply expected. But to use the name of the code, and also the video is what opens up the legal channel. He is using acidmods material to make a profit, which means if he did not get explicit permission to use the video then he owes acidmods a portion of the profits he has made since the material has contributed to the sales.

Granted, theres not enough cash there to even bother, but its good leverage to make him pull it off if acidmods wants.

The reason I have a problem with this is because he is selling the thing for 130 when it takes about less then 30 minutes to make! I would be ok if he sold this for around 60-65 but 130!.

Welcome to my world. Now all you need is 30 emails a day of people offering/requesting/demanding custom codes for everything you can possibly think of and then you get 5 more minutes of my day.

Its sad that people do this. I can understand some people not wanting to build one of these on their own. but to overcharge and sell the tech as if every bit of that chip was your own work. Disgusting! Thank you acidmods for sharing all this information and keeping it opensource.

I'd be interested in what ebay have to say about this, I pretty much doubt they'll do anything at all. You'll find 90% of the rapid fire on ebay is opensource code that the seller has nothing to do with.

lol... now Im happy you didnt give me the asm of your code. I dont want people here thinking Im gonna take their code and sell :censored: on ebay.

That just pathetic. If your gonna sell a rapidfire controller on EBAY you should at least programm and make the code yourself FROM SCRATCH.
