Title: Where to find 3.5V on CG controller

I'm installing the color changing LEDs Milko002 used in this mod here (https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,32786.0.html) and I was wondering how I can get 3.5V out of the matrix or preferably a CG controller. I don't want to worry about turning off a switch every time I'm done using the controller.

Unless he just used the 3.5V LED and only gave it 3V of power. Would that work?

correct me if im wrong, but dosent he say it only gives out "foward Voltage 3.0"
