So while surfing the internetz, I stumbled upon this beauty:
http://www.basicmicro.com/Cylon-RED-LED-Display_p_138.html (http://www.basicmicro.com/Cylon-RED-LED-Display_p_138.html)
I looked at the Data Sheet provided on that page, but it confuses my brain...@~@ I see there is a 5V Power, Ground, and something else. My question to you, Acid Modders, is it applicable to the PSP, or maybe even a DS?
-
Its a 5v psp's battery's are only 3.6v max . those ligths have to have at min. a 5v supply for them to work so no its not applicaple with the psps or ds's inless u add external battery pack on the psp or ds. have anymore ?'s feel free to reply and ill stay posted on it or pm.

I thought they had a 5v psp battery? Dno't they?
-
in my area they dont have any local and havent looked around but im pretty sure they dont have a 5v psp batt. they have the original 3.6v 1800mAh and they have a 3.6v 3600mAh thats it i think.
they have this but its more like a charger http://www.raidentech.com/fs22045.html (http://www.raidentech.com/fs22045.html)

the psp phat does have 5v power points on the mobo.
-
You do not need a 5v battery to get 5v from a psp. Many mods use 5v spots on the mobo like the LM386 for example.

hows that i tried putting 5mm LEDs in mine and there only 3.8v lights and it wouldnt power it

the power board has 3.6V avail, but on the mobo there are 5v supply points, if you look 90% of sound reactive mods (lm386) use the 5v source from the mobo. 5V supply is at the bottom near the center of the mobo
on another note. a quick look into your profile (to see what mods you have done(without finding the 5V source lol) and I soon discover two other accounts. this is against the site rules, please let me know which account you would like to keep. If you need log in info it can be provided, but you have 24 hrs to rectify this before all accounts are removed.
that other accounts in question are:
thanks28, Thanks48

I think that the back light to the psp uses 7 LED's in series, so uses much much more than 3.5V . I dont know if it is capable or specs but it may be worth a try to solder to the contacts behind the back-light plug
-
If he needs 5v there is a resistor that he can solder to right above the mem card indicator led.
