Title: Dragon Age II Announced! (plus first details)
Post by: Spriche on July 14, 2010, 11:51:35 PM
Acclaimed RPG specialists Bioware have announced a sequel to their 2009 rpg Goliath, Dragon Age: Origins.
The new game is title Dragon Age II and will feature a new character and story.
The first details of the game are in the upcoming issue of Gameinformer and it looks like Bioware is taking a new direction with this one.
According to the article, one of the changes will be the dialog system,
which was a traditional tree based system in the first game,
is being axed in favor of the system used in mass effect 2,
which was more of a wheel showing intent rather than what you actually said.
I for one am happy for the change,
I love DA, but I felt the conversation system was just too archaic after spending so much time with Mass Effect 1 and 2.
It also seems that this time around your hero will be a singular character rather than being to choose different races, and backstories. I really am excited for this one! Hit the link for more details.

I seen this a few days ago and had thought about writing about it, but didn't think enough information existed for it quite yet. I am excited though because the previous installments were great for replay value, however...

Being able to pick a race and your sex and see the different interactions between characters was part of the entertainment with Dragon Age. This was some thing that a lot of people liked about the other previous games and didn't necessarily want changed. There are several other role play games to chose from if you want a singular character to pick from but being able to pick different stories is part of the fun for a role play gamer.
