So I was riding my BMX bike yesterday, and the front wheel popped when I went off of a curb, and I decided it is the last straw for buying a new bike, before you say anything, this bike is almost 9 years old, and i've grown probably 3 feet since I first got it...It's a BMX bike and I want a street/mountain bike, and my parents have been promising me a new bike...so I figured I would come to Acidmods! Can anyone show me some good bike from: Target, Sports Authority, or any major stores that might be around Washington DC(theres also a small shoip called silver cycles).
My mom's Co-worker reccomended me this bike: bike (http://www.target.com/Men%E2%80%99s-Schwinn-700C-Trail-Hybrid/dp/B000KZ1G7Q/ref=br_1_1?ie=UTF8&id=Men%E2%80%99s%20Schwinn%20700C%20Trail%20Hybrid&node=1197318&searchSize=30&searchView=grid5&searchPage=1&sr=1-1&qid=1281801710&rh=&searchBinNameList=subjectbin,price,target_com_primary_color-bin,target_com_size-bin,target_com_brand-bin&searchRank=pmrank&frombrowse=1),

Trials rider I assume?
Well treemty, what STYLE or TYPE of riding will you do? If it's just general riding to get places or go for fun and do a small bit of off roading, nothing extreme, than that bike you posted'll be fine. It all depends on WHAT you're gonna do and HOW MUCH you are willing to spend mate.

not exactly I love hitting jumps and junk so I guess I was trying to show him some ideas since he said he rode a bmx for 9 years and I assumed he rode alot of skateparks and junk.

give a thought to a Fixie
MASH SF INTRO 2007 MASHSF.COM (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTEWIiFPDN4#normal)
MASH SF AUSTIN WITH LANCE ARMSTRONG (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNCPEzdZs5s#normal)
they are highly customizable and with a nice set of deep Vs or a quality set of aluminum rims they can take a solid beating. you also dont have to ride one fixed you can ride it with a free wheal.
if thats not your bag you cant go wrong with a trek

Where do you buy fixies ?

Trek makes single speed and fixed gear bikes that you should be able to buy at any local shop. you can also buy a older bike from cregslist and convert it. or buy a fixed gear off of cregslist.
any good bike shop should be able to set you up
