Title: Shorted out my ps3 could use help
Post by: Bonz on August 17, 2010, 10:02:06 PM
So here's the deal i was looking for a place that had around 6v of power coming from it so i could run LED's to it.  when I tried the fan power to see what the voltage was there i accidentally crossed 2 of the pins and now the PS3 won't turn on.  I believe it is a fuse somewhere but i i have no idea where any of them are located  if anyone can assist me i would be very happy. it is an 80gb phat ps3 but it must be one of the last models made cause it looks like nothing I've ever seen b4.  below are 2 pics one of the the ps3 with the top off and one of the pins i crossed.

dunno, when i did that with the power supply (pretty scary at first) i just turned it completely off and let it sit for a few. Then it worked on power up.

There is a glass fuse on the power supply. It is soldered in place but easily swappable. The placement is different on different machines but its in there.
