Title: A good place to but a button on a wired pad....
Post by: spurgurgle on August 19, 2010, 12:58:40 PM
Well as some of you know I'm currently backpacking around europe.... but still it dont stop me from modding.... well i did this a while back before i left home.... but i've got my netbook and i had my "mods" file sent out on a flash stick to me so i can clear some of my back log of work so here it is...

a good suttle place to put a mod button on your wired controllers.... for any mods that need a grounded tactile..... ie RF chips, flasher chips, fader chips ect....

first solder your tactile to the ground at the top of the pad near the usb wire... the red wire on the tactile runs to whatever mod chip you have installed.....

then carefully drill a hole in the top rail for it to slot through....

check it all fits and works right then secure it with some hot glue

and  here's the final product.......

do you think it would fit on a wireless controller? but on the other side, where there is no sync button?

Yes but you would have to be wary of the metal tab that goes round the PnC.

By the way, what is the tab for? I've got a nasty feeling its an aerial for the wireless as I took mine off when I removed the PnC plug and ever since the wireless disconnects unless I'm right next to it.

also there is no ground up there on a wireless pad so you cant solder the button straight there.....

i have put a button there before but it gets blocked by the PnP charge lead when u plug it in.....
