So I basically have nothing to start with and i Plan on buying these things today
-- 6x 5mm pink leds http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3060681 (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3060681)
-- 30 Gauge Kynar Wire [Two Colors is Best]
-- 15-30 watt Soldering Iron
-- Solder
-- Screwdriver
-- Flux
-- Electical Tape
-- LM386
-- 220ohm
Is that basically All I need to make a sound reactive LEDs? and is 5mm to big or can i put those somewhere near the faceplate because i have a clear faceplate and would those also be able to put those in the trigger?

you might want to get 0603 smd LED. they are meuch better to work with

Ok so
I went to RADIOSHACK
And i bought
2 pink 5mm LEDS
1 blue 5mm LEDS
30wat soldering iron
screwdriver
flux
electrical tape
47 ohm resistors
They did NOT have LM386 and KYNAR WIRE
Would I be able to do this mod without them
and is a 30 wat soldering iron okay?
and what about a 47 ohm resistor with 5mm leds?

Err, 5mm LED's are WAAAYY too big. Try 3mm or SMT ones.
Also, they are insanely overpriced. :P
Anyway... LM386 is an Op Amp (I think), which means you need a microphone... Unless you plan to use a built in one on your PSP? As for the 220R, I presume that's just to protect the LED, which means you will definitely need or, or you will blow your LEDs (Check the datasheets, max current ratings vary! D:!)
Also... Good luck putting that together without some form a circuit board. :P

XD I think i'll return the stuff and just ask someone to do it for me =P

lm386 radioshack part number=276-1731 they should have this
tell them you want wraping wire 278-503
the leds will work if you can fit them inside the psp, look on the pacakging, there should be a fv (forward voltage) rating. the psp is 5V power source, google led resistor calculator and use this info to find out what resistor you need.

Well, i got
33, 33k, 220, 220k OHM resistors
what's the difference between the 33 and 33k and the 220 and 220k?

k = thousand
33, 33000, 220, 220000.
You'd most probably want 220 for the LEDs and 5V power supply.
