Title: Its possible to do a mod in a Xbox 360 with 3 red lights??

Hi guys!!

Maybe it would be a noob question but... its possible to do a mod led in a xbox 360 with 3 red lights?? I say this because i want to do some mods in my xbox 360 but first i prefer to do it in another (i dont want to break my elite lol).

I just want to add some leds to the console and the hdd for now

I'm no expert, but maybe you should fix the rings first.

I'm not sure lol. When i got 3 red lights in my first xbox 360 i fixed it with a "hot gun" but only worked for a week lol. I dont have a xbox with 3 red lights now and i prefer to buy one because it would be cheaper

yes/no, when the xbox red rings, it shuts the system components down for protection. the 12v source should still be active, but I doubt the dvd power is active. so its like 50/50 but you can use it for practice. I would get a rrod console and xclamp it then do your led mods, once all is good and working transplant the led components to the good xbox for long time use....

remeber boys and girls, the number one thing you can do to prolong the life of your led mods is to use the proper resistors. it would be a shame to do all that work and have it burn out in a month or two.

im not sure if this is possible matt but theres something in the am shop called team executer fader code could you make it fade the red lights instead of green ?

ok matt. I had thought to use the 12V from the motherboard so i think i could do the mod. I wont use dvd power

Yes u could depending on what conponent you use the leds should work even if it has red rings . If you wire ir right

Yes, probably i wont have problems if i use 12v on the mobo

Yea because when I tried the 12v spots when I wasn hard wireing my core coolers it worked fine for me and the xbox had red rings

yea its  a glow mod google it and it can fade the green ring or the red ring
