Title: Painting onto my PSP, without it chipping.
Post by: Radiken on January 18, 2011, 05:45:45 PM
Hello all. I have a small MOD that I am doing. I am wondering how I can paint onto my PSP without it chipping. What materials or coatings would I need to do this properly? And help would be greatly appreciated.  :drunk:

clear coat is a most tip heat the spray paint can up before use like put the cans in a pan of hot water(not boiling) this lets the paint go on smothly and also sand the psp shell to get the paint to stick ok and dont spray to close as that can make it run and if you want it to really set put it in the oven or a really low heat

I agree w Famas , Just want to add something. Krylon makes a good plastic bond spray paint. Use that as your base coat after you sand and clean your case. Clean the whole psp with some alcohol based solution right b4 you paint. Good prep makes for great paint. If you have the tools like a hvlp spray gun and compressor, catalyzed clear coat offers the best protection for your psp finish. But you gotta work fast.
1 more tip for painting , start out very light coats and build up to heavier. Last coat of clear should be almost ready to run. this helps the paint lay down flat. Be patient , wait in between coats.
