Title: Quick resistor question
Post by: VesHo on January 23, 2011, 08:36:03 AM
Which resistor should I get from http://www.phenoptix.com/shop/resistors-c-39_48.html?osCsid=c9636a3dd546fd952de49b8da54a499e (http://www.phenoptix.com/shop/resistors-c-39_48.html?osCsid=c9636a3dd546fd952de49b8da54a499e) ?

They would be going in the new cg board 360 controllers for a rapid fire mod...

Common resistor values:

12 Ohm
100 Ohm
220 Ohm
540 Ohm
680 Ohm

1K Ohm
2.2K Ohm
4.7K Ohm

10K Ohm
22K Ohm
33K Ohm
56K Ohm

100K Ohm
330K Ohm
500K Ohm

*If you were to buy 10 of each + shipping it would probably be $2.00 from Tayda Electronics ~ http://www.taydaelectronics.com/servlet/the-Resistors-cln-1-fdsh-4W-Carbon-Film-Resistors/Categories (http://www.taydaelectronics.com/servlet/the-Resistors-cln-1-fdsh-4W-Carbon-Film-Resistors/Categories)

looks like you beat me too it!

1k ohm resistor for the led

id suggest buying from phenoptix and getting
100 1kohm resistors
100 330 ohm resistors
100 of the diodes you no the ones i mean as i told you last time
and 100 100 ohm resistors great for everything these

1k ohm resistor for the led

led? I am not drilling any holes for new leds...just using the sync lights to show status

yes but you need a 1k ohm resistor for led indication on the board correct the 0603

just buy a pack of resistors like frenulem said.if you need other help just post and someone should be able to help.

ok i think he got his answer don't drive him away with this stuff.

i thought diodes were only used in the old matrix board

10 of each on what frenulem said just in case he comes across other pads that need doing.

i think he got his answer don't drive him away with this stuff.

thanks...Happy Birthday

This is confusing. :( do i just buy what you named above Famas?

just buy a pack of resistors depending on what pack you buy you will get 10 of each and use the 1k as said above.

plus don't forget to post your results mate.

vesho
if you plan on modding more than just rapid fire controllers get a pack like fookz and fren said.

if you are only doing rapid fire controllers then you should use whatever value resistor the install diagram says

if you do only want to do rf controllers i recommend you get from phenoptix 100 of each of these values; 100ohm 10kohm 330ohm
this should give you all the resistors for any open source code here.

however the codes available here are for personal use only and you should not be selling them as you do not own the code

oh and fren at phenoptix they only sell resistors in multiples of 100

youve said 10k he needs but have you even looked at the rf picture diagrams where at all other than lugnuts code do you need a 10k resistor you need 1k

resistors in general use are not an exact science.
yes in the diagram shown by famas a 1k is shown but a 100ohm will make the leds light up as bright as stock.
but yeah i meant to put 1k on my list but guess i forgot :P
1k resistors are pretty useful for various things.

ok, after all that

resistors are mod spacific. you will need a difrent value resistor depending on the type of mod your doing. This is why it would be a good idea to buy a multi pack when starting out. If you only want to buy what u need for now, look at the install diagram for the rapidfire or other mod they are generally printed clearly in the install pics.
