Title: Mod off topic??
Post by: crazy-modder on February 01, 2011, 12:09:43 PM
Hey admins, alot of us think it would be way easier to just have a mod off topic like the last mod off we had. Is there anyway that this can be arranged? I personally think the whole emailing our pictures and videos is a little ridiculous.

I completely agree and explained all my thoughts in a PM to modded matt, I don't really feel like typing my message again sorry. Overall I agree with crazy.

I think I understand why the admins have done it. It's supposed to prevent peoples decisions being swayed by a person rather than the work. However, if people openly admit what they're making it would defeat the purpose of being anonymous. Either way, I'm fine.

This whole system u guys have setup is making me not want to enter the mod off just because its so much annoying work when u can just setup your own topic for a worklog. I personally was planning on doing a video worklog and my name was going to be in it no mater what. i do like the idea of the reg # u can set it up ware u have to email to get in and u will PM there reg # to the person entering and they have to have that reg number in all there updates including name + date or what ever. if you guys are doing it this way to prevent friend voting its going to happen anyways because i garenty in a week everyone is going to know who is doing what.

Even though I'm not entering the contest (because of no spending money) I think the system right now is flawless because you're going to win something with a little bit more work.

Nobody will steal your idea. let just see what happens.

I don't know the old voting system but I think implenting a way for the modders to update their own threads by themselves and allowing the admins only to be the deciding factor on who wins would be the most hassle free and fair way of doing things. I mean I think we can all agree that the admins aren't gonna favorite anyone and actually gonna make legit decisions seeing as that most of them are senior modders and have experience in the field for awhile now.

the system: im with the admins this time. although to be honest its pretty confusing.

the new system is a lot complicated. but i do believe there are reasons for that.

judging system, im with monk3y. we trust it to the hands of AM admins. they are the expert. and we want to hear the admins opinion on why it win/didnt win.

cheers~

That's my point wet, so if the admins are going to be the deciding factor then why not let the members manage their own progress thread, ya know? If they do choose the admin route then I see no reason why they need the anonymous feature there anymore. Plus how long is this whole anonymous thing gonna last? Within a week everyone is gonna know who is doing which mod.

i agree the admins should vote.

i dont understand the anonymous thing, you can see the persons email address... some members have their forum username in their email.

man you guys whine a lot, i'd just deal with it, they're obviously doing it this way for a reason, think about it, remember you don't have to enter if you don't want to :D

It's not whining at all, this thread is a way of letting the admins know how we view the current setup. We're trying to let the admins know the flaws in the system and also tell them what would make things easier for everyone. I'm already entered and plan to keep updating as I would do but as of my recent bed issue my room is all disorganized so I haven't started on my project yet. Either way I'm in.

hi guys i would guess that the admins are still setting things up since there was people moaning about the system to stop cheaters they are thinking of ways to get people in but not let cheats.

pm a admin so they can try sorting it out

I would PM, but I can't get on my messages... Just a white screen.

EDIT: Never mind. I found pruning messages sorted it.

what about setting up temporary anonymous accounts for the contestants? that way they can upload their own worklogs, pics etc and it's still anonymous.

Question: Are we allowed to comment on peoples worklogs or will this be feedback-free worklogs?
