so in dt at skool were making our own clock. but i wanna ace it with my modding skills any ideas. i am thinking about to make a crystal clear acrylic cube with sound reactive leds wired in and the clock motor on sum side.
I really need ideas and for designs and ideas. My teacher thinks im a retard but i want my design to make him sh*t himself.

i made a clock in dt and after three years of product design my best advice is keep it simple, i know from experience if you try and do something complicated you end up having to rush it and it will look awful, try and think more simple but brilliant :P

You can never fail with binary clocks :)
-
Persistence of Vision (POV) Clock would be my suggestion, or as hidden said a binary clock...

Anything more simple than that. I mine I want Ideas In design like I cant make a Binary clock and stuff lol thats to complicated for me. my teacher is gonna give the class all a simple motor module thing for the clock. Its all graded on the Design. I have 18weeks to complete it at school which is 18 Hours all together. Thx guys but I need design ideas that are simple and Outstanding.

Thanks for bringing that project to my attention Frenulem. I want to make that now, however I have an interesting twist to it. I want to use amber leds for the numbers and the surrounding balls will be violet. The only trick will be is having the leds switch from amber to violet whenever the numbers change.

you could have it so that when it reaches a certain time that the colours would change
-
How would I do that?
-
Hard to describe.... brb paint, ok so this is a quick idea, i could draw the diagram if you like, what power can you use?
-
Thats a wicked Idea, thanks. man.
When you mean power do you mean volts. I am using 3v

But the problem is the conductive material.
-
a scrap of metal or a random bit of wire, and your gonna need to power the LEDs, if thats what you wanna do, separately , with a 9v batt

I have a Idea. There is this switch I forgot its name it is trigger by a magnet.I can put a magnet on the hand to trigger it.

I found the Answer. Ill put a magnet on the hand and use a Reed Switch to activate it. :dribble: :dribble: :dribble:
Please, refrain from excessive use of smileys outside of the spam and chat section. 3 or 4 is far more than enough to get your point across... -jrfhoutx
