anyone ever try these drive if so whats your experience with them thinking of ordering 2 of them

Don't touch Seagate. Period. I had a 1.5TB get 9 bad sectors in 3 months, another 1.5TB die in a day, and my replacement one just died 2 days after getting it. No other drives ever die(d) in my machine.

For $10 more I would go with the Western Digital green. Even though its middle of the road for WD's it's still a lot better then the Seagate with 64 mb cache vs 32 and 7200 RPM vs 5900 and 5 year warranty vs 3 year. unfortunately the blacks jump up to $169.

If you're looking to RAID these babies, get a couple of Samsung F3R's. Tad more expensive though. But for the performance, it's worth it.

iw ent up to frys and got a 1 tb wd black hdd 7200 rpm 32mb cache. or so i tho i opened teh box and on teh hdd it said 64 mb cache.
all for 80.
and even if that hdd didnt die its still slow. 5900 rpm.
