It could be stuck in customs?
-
I believe it was the iPad2, and it's not in customs, he said yesterday that the tracking listed it as out for delivery, but now they claim it's lost or something like that...
unless you have a situation like I did a couple weeks ago and it sits on the truck for 3 days before they actually deliver it...
-
call and raise hell
-
nope its stolen - they gound the outer package in the depo but with nothing inside it and the seal had been broken. its been updated on the tracking as lost but unfortunately USPS has logged the update as attemted delivery
and yeah me and tracy have bee getting on to them at both ends.

I freaking hate usps.... I sold 4 custom jtags to some kid for $1,200 and usps lost "stole" my package. A few months before that happened i sold a jtag to another dude for $500 and somehow that one came up missing too. Usps is full of nothing but thieves that rummage through your packages and steal. I also sold a nintendo wii to my a friend of mine back in indiana, the box had a wii with all cables and 4 controllers. He got the package and it had been opened and it was missing 2 of the controllers.
DO NOT EVER USE USPS!!!! EVER!!!   :sadno: :sadno:
UPS OR FEDEX IF YOUR ITEMS ARE OF HIGH VALUE!

If companies make it personal responsibility to get packages delivered i bet you 99.99% of packages will be delivered on time and not "lost".
People just think its hunky dory to go ahead and snoop in a package and hijack whatever is in there....
My friend from texas shipped 10 jtag xbox motherboards to be put in modded cases and only board 1 came in... the rest of the space was filled with packing peanuts and the box was extra taped up and looked like a POS... I knew he didn't do that to pull my leg because packing peanuts are an ESD hazard and all of the boards were missing... he was pissed and accused me of jacking the boards. I didn't know what to do

If you have to use USPS - ship with insurance equal to the value of the item or what the customer paid. I gave up on the whole refunding the money or replacing the item a long, long time ago. Now if something happens, the other person gets the insurance claim money and they can have it.

what i would do is go to the police and notify them. tell them the whole story. let them catch those idiots that keep stealing peoples packages.
now, what you could do is go to the police with the original receipt and tell them that it was stolen. The people that stole it are probably not the smartest of the bunch. this would not be the right thing to do, but you could make up an elaborate story about how someone stole it from your car. since you are sure that the package came to your area that wouldn't be a big thing.
Computers and cell phones are traceable....
especially to people who don't understand how they work, or don't know how to get around hardware id's and mac address.
When a computer is built, it is given a serial number (especially apple) which would have all of this information in their database. this has been used to track stolen computers and electronics in the past. Especially if there is lots of similar theft in the area.
