Sony Computer Entertainment America president Jack Tretton told Reuters in an interview the company may end up delaying the global release of its upcoming gaming handheld - codenamed the "NGP" - to 2012.
Tretton suggested that due to last month's earthquake and tsunami in Japan, Sony may only be able to release the handheld in one region by the end of the year because of production problems brought on by the disaster.
"It may be the straw that says 'maybe we get to just one market by the end of the year,'" he said. Tretton was unable to comment on which region will get the NGP first if a delay becomes necessary, and added that developers will get additional time to polish their software.

didn't they say they were only gonna do one region by the end of the year anyway... anything more was just speculation... if you look at my global launch post i had said that they may launch world wide but they are only committed to one region!
