Title: LM386 Help! pinouts and diagram

Hi all.

I know this topic has been asked alot, but i HAVE Searched this site ( as well as google :tup:) but couldn't find anything usefull...
I want to know how i should wire a LM386 Chip to boost Sound, not using it as Sound sensitive leds. I know the sound quality goes down, but i wanto try it out.. i'll attach a diagram of how i wired it up [not working, somehow, theres just a scratching sound emitting],. also i'm kinda new to the modding scene, should there be a negative wire too, and whats the use of the "ground" wire as i saw on other diagrams.

Thanx, have been searching for about 3 days now.

[PS] i used my hi-fi to test if it worked, maybe the output of the hi-fi is different or something?

GND is Negative
