Okay, so im new to this whole modding experiance.
I'm looking at the programmers for the micro chips, would this work http://cgi.ebay.com/Easy-use-USB-PIC-Programmer-Microchip-/300533925699?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45f937c743#ht_2925wt_1045 (http://cgi.ebay.com/Easy-use-USB-PIC-Programmer-Microchip-/300533925699?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45f937c743#ht_2925wt_1045)
Next, i have a mac, so is it even possible to work with any of these programmers>
Third and final question, can someone give me a link to the type of chip i would have to buy to make my own rapid fire kits?(personal use, not selling so im using open source code)
Thanks,
Joe

Yeah that programmer will work. You will prolly need some 12f683s as all the codes on this website use that chip. You can get some here http://cgi.ebay.com/Microchip-PIC12F683-I-P-new-unprogrammed-10-pcs-/140537416513?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20b8aecb41
Ive boght from that seller before and hes legit. U can prolly get them cheaper at other places but thats just where i get mine.
Not sure if programmers work on macs as i dont have one but it prolly will.
My favorite code is flex rf https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,35802.0.html
its great since its simple and requires no resistors for both controller models (assuming u r a 360 guy)

Thanks,
(I'm a not proud to be psn guy) sad that the network is down.
and I can't find one(pic programmer) that works for macs :cry2:
If anyone has any idea of how i can get one that runs on mac os, Lmk
-
I dont see why it wouldnt work on macs? does it say it doesnt? Where'd u here that?
-
under the info where all the bullets are for my origanal post from ebay. it says
Support O/S: window 98/XP/2000/Vista32/windows 7 in both 32 and 64 bit Windows system
i mean it's no big deal, i guess i can borrow my parents laptop for programming if it doesn't work on my macbook pro, i would rather just have one that works on my laptop so files aren't going back and forth.

People in my classes have been able to program pics on macs using MPLab and the pickit 3. So basically if you can an MPLab compatible programmer you should be ok.

(sort of an opinion) Those tacts look a bit too tall. I use 7mm. Also, what are the npn transistors for? Just so u know, u can get a bunch of them at radioshack for cheap.

ill have to ask about mplab for macs from ppl in class but you could prolly find info for it with a quick google search. Looks liek everything you need, do you already have 30awg wire wrap (to solder your components together)? if not you might want to pick some up because I dont think radioshack or similar stores normally carry it.
this type of wire (http://www.sparkfun.com/products/8029)
edit: two many miss spaces, I had to fix it haha

Sorry guys i've been to into modding my ps3 console so i've been ignoring this thread. And yes if you could find it for me. So far it took me two days to even install my generic programmer on an old windows.

Been busy workign on school projects and what not, but this is the mplab for mac, its a beta so it will have some flaws but it supposedly works on mac OS X for the most part, def worth giving a try.
