Title: My MOD using 2n2222
Post by: zephyr1220 on April 27, 2011, 07:02:48 PM
Just finished installing 8 red leds using 2n2222 last night.
I encountered something, at the start up lights are at their dimmest light but i was expecting that if music came they will shine the brightest but instead they went off totally and never came back.
When i put it to hold mode and turn it on again they are at they dimmest then same thing happened when i play music they went off.

What could it be? i am using 500 ohm resistor for all eight, i hope someone can help me.

a 500 ohm resistor is way to high! try replacing it with a lower one like 100 or 120 ohm resistor and they will be bright.

sounds like you may have soldered something you shouldnt have or the lm386 chip is toching the bottom of the psp motherboard. did you remember to put electrical tape over the exposed parts?

and if none of those work then take apart your psp completely and check for any damage or bad solderings then if you find no problems you can see put it back together, and see if it works. sometimes it can be a loose part or a bit of metal caught on the board somewhere.

update if it works after.
