Activision has revealed to investors that the new Call of Duty game will be fully revealed in a matter of weeks. Interestingly, the game is going to really ramp up its online play abilities, promising a range of dedicated online technologies as well as social networking features. These online features are being developed at Beachhead. Moreover, it was confirmed that the new Call of Duty will be the first to offer players extra online options at a premium.

However, Kotick of Activision was quick to calm fears. He noted that players will not have to pay more for services that are typically free and that they are used to.

thats how call of duty works man...

and this one is nearly guaranteed to suck.  there was no 2 year gap for the devs, so i almost guarantee this one will be the worst call of duty ever (yes... worse than 3)

COD:MW2 was the death of COD imo..

I feel the exact same. COD4 was a blast for me. MW2 took it a bit too real I guess by making the killstreaks so powerful. Idk just have a strong hate for MW2/BO

micro-transactions are the wave of the future of gaming sadly...snatching up map packs and other dlc has shown them there is a market for it, so where they see a market they'll move on it. lets just hope that if micro-transactions become the future of gaming that it brings down the initial price some, otherwise I see a lot of game companies losing their asses when gamers stand up and decide they don't want to pay bit by bit...

i have enough trouble justifying buying myself microsoft points as it is, i'd much rather pay for the game once and be done with it.

me too. I hate microsoft points. the odd relation to dollar value they have pisses me off. other than to make you forget or not pay attention to exactly how much you're really spending with your points so that you spend more, I don't see why they couldn't make the value of points directly relate to dollars and cents (like wii points) or use a wallet idea like PSN. I still think the 'save you money in transaction fees on your credit card' excuse is pure bull:censored: and I can't stand constantly having ~330 points left on my account all the time, the points remainders are really irritating...

eeek! anything worth 330 points? i think the COD progressed to fast that people were scared and started camping. Anyone played COD4 on pc? it was the :censored:! lol specially with modtools, you could make you custom maps and play them. Even COD5 for PC. custom zombie maps were beast!

Well for me it was simple. If i wanted to change my gamertag i'd just go out and buy a 1 month because it was 8 bucks... If i were to go out and buy a 1600 point card (in the united states) thats $20... so its 800 points to change ur name and thats $10... ridiculous.. so i think thats the reason why they took 1 month cards off the shelf.

Premium service causes a lot of trouble with little kids and certain kinds of teenagers that like to scam.

teenager: "hey 8 year old, want premium real cheap? go get me a 1600 point card for me and i'll give you unlimited premium"

squeaky little kid: "OK! ;D... mommy mommy mommy i need to go to walmart right now".

that said. premium service... thats going to break the game up into chunks, kinda reminds me of home decor... you can never buy enough add-ons to get what you want.  :boxed:

dats true man. ive heard that they are going to break up the premium to ether "china" or another rumor thats floating around is that this premium is going to kick in after the year is over. so the game might have a 2 year life span. this is a goo thing i think. so instead of buying a hole new game you could just add to the existing game.

you guys should check this out

Using it as a way to 'extend the lifespan of the game' is BS. that's like Fallout DLC, which is pure BS, it's not a way to extend the game's lifespan, it's a pathetic excuse to make you pay more money for game missions that should have been included in a game that was already over-priced and half-assed...

yea i guess. hopefully MW3 wont be half assed like mw2.

also if acvition and infinity award know this game might have a 2 year lifespan hopefully they should know that they have to but alot more work on it. specially since its going to have to compete with battlefield 3
