Title: iPhone 3gs Problem- Will Not Turn on
Post by: tanoz on May 19, 2011, 07:22:05 AM
hello i apologise if this is in the wrong section but as there is no specified section i found this to be a fair judgement.

My problem is i am running a iphone 3gs on firmware 4.2.1 baseband 6.15.00
the iphone simply will not turn on. DFU mode does not work. Charging for a day does nothing. Leaving turned off for two weeks and reattempting to charge has no effect. The computer simply will not realise it at all.
I have tried swapping in a friends battery and dock connector and the same problem still occurs.
Also the jailbreak and baseband upgrade was preformed using redsnow. Not sure what version, but the iphone worked perfectly for one month than suddenly this happened.

Is there anyone with an idea of solution as to what might be the problem and how it can be resolved?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

did your friends battery have charge when you swapped it in?

if not and both batterys needed to be charged have you tried other cables/chargers/outlets.

if not it sounds like a fuse may of blown or your circuit got fried - did you have it plugged into anything when there was a surge or lightening storm etc?

it definatly doesnt sound like a sofware issue as if it was no matter how you had JB your phone etc it would atleast show the apple logo when plugged into the charger or attempted to turn on

sounds like a mobo problem.. i'd change it with a friends in yours and see if everything runs right with a different mobo.

Does it just not do anything when you try to turn it on? also try swapping your power button cable things, i had this problem with my iphone and that fixed it.

Thanks all for the help with your replies unfortunatly it was a motherboard problem QQ
i actually found a guy in my city who does free quotes and they are testing the motherboard to isolate the problem and see if the component could be replaced.
thanks for all the help tho well appreciated
