Not buying a console because of it's name is ridiculous. Ways to unbrand things, spray paint, and new cases will always exist... Oh and stickers for those who like stickers.You can't "unbrand" a name. If I bring that with me, and paint "PSP2" on it people will still say "Oh I see you have the PS Vita!!!" The name is the only thing that is ridiculous..

It doesn't matter if you can physically unbrand anything... If I sand over the faceplate and umd door on my PSP, paint Nintendo DS on it, add a CTF theme with a boot that says "Nintendo DS", and change the console name to Nintendo DS, it's is STILL a PSP.. I don't get what point you're trying to make. Physically unbranding has nothing to do with it. For example my iPhone 2g. It has android firmware installed on it. It says android when it boots up. Yet it is still an iPhone. And I could care less what people think about it. Even if everyone said that my iPhone was a Macbook, it would still be an iPhone, that was just an example.

Anyways PlayStation Vita doesn't sound that bad. :/ Like you'd have to admit PlayStation is stupid a name, it's a "Play Station" literally translating into a machine that you play with. : | Yet you're all fine with it. When you think about it Vita is far better than that.
I don't mind the name and I don't understand why it's such a big deal, like sure they could have come up with something else but it's pretty much irrelevant, it's an amazing console and it's better than coming up with some really desperate trying to be cool name like blue flame or something. I would have liked something Japanese for the name rather than Latin though.
I will have to say that Vita doesn't roll off the tongue though :/
