K. So i recently got a sony ericsson vivaz pro, and it came with crappy headphones as usual so i tried to use my iBeats with it instead. But the problem is that the headphone jack is prioritized to only work with Sony headphones.
Now what i was thinking was to open it up and somehow switch the polarities around to allow it to work with any headphone.
I just wanted to know is this possible to do or would it mess up the phone or the audio output somehow?

what do you mean by prioritized? like how?

I'm curious to? can we get a pic of the headphone jack on your phone

well prioritizes means that a company modified how its phone reads input from the headphone jack.
Standard Jack input from the base of the jack is left input, then right input then ground.
Standard Jack with a microphone input from the base is left input then right input then microphone input, then ground.
A Prioritized headphone jack has all of those but in a different order so it will not allow for standard headphone with a microphone to run with the phone.
Its simply to make the owner of the phone (me) have to use that companies headphones (Sony Ericsson).
Sorry if you didn't understand that, but that's the simplest way i can put it.
EDIT:
I have fixed the problem. it was not my phone that was prioritized, it is apple that prioritizes its headphones.
