Title: sound reactive mp3 player completed
Post by: 1TONpete on July 02, 2011, 07:03:40 PM: A lil project for CMM.
Goal take an mp3/mp4 player and add sound reactive leds.
Take these leds and put them behind the mp3 player's shell. Make a window that shows off the CMM logo . Light the window.

It will be a good way to demo the the stuff I will be using on my arcade stuff. But I want you to think about images... come up with something personal that you like.

I drew that star one day cuz i was bored and, made it 3-D looking then photo shopped in the color.

Would the black and white one be best for you to use or would the colored one suffice?

Anyone with information about linux and linux modding, I would love to add some games and apps for him.

CMM started the mod today have pics l8r... too hot.
Ok I tried to swap in a bigger speaker but it was slightly to thick... I could make it fit by cutting the dimensions of the speaker out of the shell and flush mounting the speaker... BTW, the bigger speaker was incredible. I drilled out 2 ports in the front to let sound come out the front of the case. Kind of like psp set up. I also tried a psp speaker for left channel but it wasn't loud enough to hear over either bigger speaker. Green sound reactive led behind the left port, and this led also shows charge. I cut out the star pattern in the back , will be making a window for that. right channel led will light up star. PICS soon.

Post by: 1TONpete on July 18, 2011, 08:08:25 PM: UPDATE: She's just about done. I had 2 green leds in the star but lost one (snapped the leg off deep) I am waiting on a delivery of a bunch of smd's . When they come in I will take out the 3mm (modded for fit) and put in a bunch of smd greens.

Post by: 1TONpete on July 18, 2011, 10:05:46 PM: This thing is loud. My camera does not really demo how loud this lil device is. It could be louder but for ascetics I left the speaker internal and didn't mount the large speaker flush mount. I'll update again when I get the new batch of smd leds.
