yes i know guys ive been posting about controllers
but i modded my xb 360 matrix controller with the FLEX RF and it works awesome also painted it a superman blue
when i went to change out the stock green leds with white and blue led's i did player 1 2 3 fine but when i went to change out the led the contacts lifted on player 4 stupid solder wont stick to the contacts
only real reason i need it to indicate the Rapid fire status also when i go to adjust the speed all the other led work fine just the stupid last one i really dont mind doing something different or anyone know how i fix it to reattach the led?
will post pic later also think my solder iron is to dam hot its a weller 30w
-
matrix board then? need the circuit for the leds?
edit heres what i could find double check to see if your traces match your wireless motherboard. you can use 30 awg wire and solder to the traces, to the led and will work again i have had to fix a few myself this way. hope this helps

so do i just cut the traces with a blade and attach there?
WOW didnt see how freakin small those traces are lol
well after numerous attempts i ran out of leds trying to repair it and burning the crap out of them
i finally found a company nikontronics or something and sell smd 0603 for like 10 20 cents so ima wait maybe ill throw in a UV led
question are they all attached in the same order ?
what if i attach player 4 to player 3 will it work? like use the same points - and +

NO DONT CUT THE TRACES, you can get a fiber glass pen from Radio shack if your in the states. or take a exacto blade and scrap the coating off the trace and attach the 30awg wire to the trace and to the leds, the leds have positive and negative on them, google leds polarity. attach the positive lead to the postive side of fthe led and the negative lead to the negative side of the led and follow the traces which is positive + and the Negative - traces on the board. attatcch the wires accordling to the traces that you scrap off leds work like a diode. hope this helps out .

Can't he just use the other 2 leds instead? You just need it to show RF status correct?
-
He probably could just thought he wanted to fix them . On the Flex RF usually uses player 3 and 4 led also why not learn how to fiix it. Or this might teach someone else how to fix there led problem with a matrix board this is why I pretty much spelled it out for him. The more you can teach someone about it the more then can feel confident in taking on more then they expect to and makes them feel more comfortable and more confident in what they do in life. :hifive:

Fair enough Rodent. Just let him know he might have that option.

So Yes He probably could use the other leds but still has to get it on the right side of the leds :)
-
yeah i meant scrape the traces not cut them sorry
i tried that and i cant get anything i found a few random led to test it out nada :dntknw:
and yeah i just really need something to indicate the RF
-
then you could use the other leds on the board but you have to get them on the right side of there polairty to work

wait how can the black be negative and when you put a rapid fire kit it needs power from the led and its in the bottom of the the led?
-
Each controller version is different. The led's are switched around on some boards.

Each rapid fire gives a certain wireing diagram, as in this thread he is using a Matrix board with a Matrix Flex RF. So if its al ways good to read thru the whole thread . ( JUST A NOTE ) for those who missed something here or another thread.

Agreed!! ... Like Denali has posted here and I said above, you have to watch which leds you solder the wire to. as Denali quoted "Each controller version is different" must pay attention to what your wireing, this has been a problem with most RF not working.
Good thing to remember : FInd what board your using print that picture of your board when wiring the RFs or any other project your wiring , That way you can double check your work or triple check your work before powering it up and will save you alot of headaches and greif of what happened or what you may have done wrong. I do this everytime i solder something even with the RFs I always print it out and watch and double or triple check my work before powering it up or procedding on to the next steps.

you can also take 30 awg wire and follow the leds trace till it comes to a little tiny hole. Strip your wire, stick it through the hole and solder the other end of the wire to the led.

lol im gonna try that do it when i get home will report back
it doesnt work the i have 30 awg and it doesnt fit in there i tried with a real thin ass needle so i can sorta help the wire but nada
or is there a trick to it
