Title: So how the heck do I do this? It's been a while.
Post by: PspKicks316 on July 15, 2011, 05:08:07 PM: I have a DG-16D2S-09C, original FW 83850C, mfr August 2009. With the new dash, the FW is 02510C. From my understanding, I can make a homebrew version of the PMT probe using a capacitor (see THIS (http://www.team-xecuter.com/x360usbpro/pogo_mo_thoin_diy.pdf) pdf). Is that all I need?

I've been sitting here googling for 3 hours and I'm starting to get really pissed, cuz there's too many mixed messages for this drive. I've read the Aug 09 drives need soldering, I've read 100 different ways of cutting traces and probing this and that, and I have no clue wtf I'm doing now.

Anyways: is there any sure fire way to grab the DVD key from this drive using homebrew parts? I don't want to have to go buy a CK3 or anything like that.

Either way, I'm looking to do it using the PMT way because it's the most homebrew friendly... and easiest/works for all drives. Snowcolt, it's obvious I'm flashing the drive...I need to be able to get the DVD key first which is the problem.

anything I can help with ? pretty good at doing these now took me a while, but havent seen anything yet that has gotten you a answer.
