Title: Just some tools I have made.....with help.
Post by: Rodent on July 20, 2011, 04:27:14 PM
OK guys, I would have bought the right tools but I have been out of a job and bored with nothing to do.Yea I done some mods and stuff but when your broke your broke....Unemployed, so when I first got into modding or fixing game consoles never thought I would go as far as I have . not that I have gone Far. But I  have learned quite a bit in what 10 months.

These are tools that are all over the web to make...even some here from ACIDMODS its self. So Just thought I would share these with you to show my little bit of what talent I have and that I can follow instructions....from time to time. all these work and yes I have made a few mistakes makeing them and learning from them.

For the Orignal xbox my first repair . replacing what they call a super capacitor which keeps the time and replaced the harddrive that went bad on me to  a 40 gb harddrive. all i had at time to use and was out of work then also.

Looks good man. You should go and try and get even a minimum wage job while your looking for real work, so you will at least be bringing in some money.

hey, just a question about the probe, can you use that to power any other xbox 360 dvd drives? I built a small umm thing lol using a molex connector and a few resistors with schematics i found online but i found that when I plugged it into my computer, it wouldnt turn on :(

The probe is not for powering the DVD drive, it is the tool that was used on the 78750 Liteon drive to retrieve the drive key when installing a modified firmware.  I built one too, but it wasn't nearly as pretty, just on a perf board

Here is a you tube Video thanks to (JohnnyMcKinney) he shows you how to with a usb powered like mine is. So mainly between the two i came up with the diagram from xbox-scene and his video and used the 5volts from a usb.

Yea I didn't take the time to double check the model number, and I guess I should have put the pretty as "pretty", that is how it was in my head.

That was the point of using the word, which is why I said I should have put it in quotes, kinda of a "look at rodent, his project is so "pretty", it makes mine look like crap." lol

Too easy, I won't even go there. Anyway, your stuff does look very nice and finished. (Better?) I don't usually try to make that stuff look good, when it is going to be something only I will ever use and not even that often.  Now if I were selling it/giving it to someone, or doing a tutorial, I would make it a little nicer. When I do RF mods, they look very neat and clean (on the outside at least, I only have one color of wire, so I don't color code).
