Title: 3D for Smartphones?
Post by: Crumbz on July 25, 2011, 08:33:23 PM
LG Electronics' Thrill 4G is the wireless industry's latest attempt to push 3D capabilities into consumers' hands.
But are we ready for it?

(https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1215.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fcc507%2FCreativeMindMedias%2FThrill-3_540x405_270x203.jpg&hash=103b48734261c82bf7ebef22b32ec5d9a1c397e9)

HTC was the first company to lauch a 3D capable smartphone and in doing so have opened the way for other competitors to add the feature onto their own phones. But is it really a feature we want? Or is it just something else for them to raise the price of the phone with?

Although smartphones have an advantage over 3D televisions, the smartphone has a smaller screen and therefore you are still able to see the 3D effect without glasses.

But unfortunately not everyone is able to see the effect offered or even want to see the effect on there phone.
So the question comes down to... Would you buy a phone for it's 3D capabilities?

NOTE:

I have created a poll on this post for the question in yellow.

i dont think 3D looks all that amazing. i felt like i had been cross eyed for 2 and a half hours after watching transformers in 3D. but i guess its a step toward seeing smartphones with a projected holograph display, that would be cool.
