Title: Any ideas to mod my PS1

Hey ppl i got this ps1 from Goodwill for $2.15(sticker said it didnt work)
Took it home got a good power cable, connected it and boom green light(yay)
It was missing the spindle thing where the cds clicked on it( i had a sony walkman n took it of there and put it on the ps1, n it work) (yay again)
I noticed the laser is real sensiteve like if you move it, it skips(is that normal?)
Okay well what i wanna ask is:
What are some cool mod ideas for this?
I wanted to do a Chevy theme, cut a chevy emblem into the top
But idk what else from there...
well let me know if yall have any ideas

My friend gave me a ps1 slim the other day also, I was going to do a black and red color scheme thing on mine, but what would be cool on your would Im not sure if this would work or not but you could MAke a ring of lights all the way around the flip top cover thing, And make them like sound reactive somhow? or somthin like that would be prettty cool

well if you have a ps1 slim or phat you could try to put a mod chip to get a nes emulator working :) lol i have a code for the 12f629 to install inside a ps1 as a modchip.

well the only emulator there is is a nes. other than that if you want to at least play anything i suggest that. lol

off a disk or wat?

This looks pretty interesting, ima see if someone here can do it for me, i dont have a programer, nor do i know how to install the hex...

Update:
This so far the progress ive made on the ps1
I didnt have a dremel or rotary sax, skill saw...etc
so i stood next to the stove with a utility knife, heated up the blade n cut slowly lol
still want more ideas, so let me know...

Hey quick question does anyone now the av pin out on the board of a ps1?
I dont have a multimeter
Im trying to do the sound reactive leds
if you do know, can you donload the pic n mark them for what they are, many thanks if you can
if googled but all i get are the cord pin out...

Ok well here another step down lol
Got 2 leds for know, there white n bright
might want to add more, not sure yet.
nbody else got any ideas for this let me know

<the chevy emblem is pretty straight, but there are a few deformities
Maybe paint it or might get someone to paint it for me

Dude get El Wire for this! It looks amazing!

There was a picture i found online of a ps1 with el wire but i can find the pic now... may have been on here somewhere...

El Wire is a thin cord that acts like a light when power is applied to it.

EL Wire = Electro Luminescent Wire

Man I hate that there aint alot of ps1's modded
cus there aint alot of ps1 information like power, av pinout, etc
Im took the female usb off of a ps2 lol
Ima try to make it so i can charge stuff on my ps1...

Yes it is bright... But El Wire was used in the new tron movie for the lights on the costumes. So yes it is bright.

its the scph-7001 sereis has 5 power pins
