yup! i decided to make this to add to a bullet ps3 controller. makes it look nice :)
i made two versions of the d-pad. one with more tin , and the other with more copper. one makes it looks like silver and the other is bronze colored. i made this with a custom mold makde out of palster paris. the plaster is turned into a mold then its heated to 250 degrees for 1 hour, (it evaporates any extra water that is within the mold. ) then after you are able to poor in the metal. :)

5lb Tin ingots are not expensive ether, they are about $20, which would last you a long time. This is a good mod you deserve to have that gold plated.

I can appreciate this. Sweet job.

here is two different dpads. one has more copper lol. basicly it looks like gold/bronze :)

looks good! make a few analogs to go with it lol jk
-
i may be able to make the analog sticks out of metal too lol
-
i recommend from my molding of analog sticks, do it in 2 pieces. Thumb pad and bottom part and try to figure out a way to join them. sticks are very hard to mold. the dome area is very thin and air pockets will kill the mold. I would love to see a metal stick though. keep it up dude.

yea. seems hard. but i wanna see it done :p

I think you would be far better off turning analog sticks than moulding them. Like this company does http://www.modsticks.com/

they look aweosme

what u can do is make the sicks in two parts, and then solder it together. i will actually try to make the R1 buttons. it will be simple with molding wax and then the plaster. lol
