Google actually offers a lot of out of copyright eBooks for free.

You can find them below.

Google Free Books (http://books.google.com/ebooks?uid=117522004192189783614&as_coll=1040)

Amazon - Kindle Books. Search price lowest to highest (http://www.amazon.com/Kindle-eBooks/b/ref=amb_link_355831402_36?ie=UTF8&node=154606011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=left-1&pf_rd_r=08JMYPHFVHZ8MM1T8DS1&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1319821902&pf_rd_i=1286228011#/ref=sr_st?qid=1317713453&rh=n%3A133140011%2Cn%3A!133141011%2Cn%3A154606011&sort=price)

It isn't likely to find many newer books for free, that is legal. So I don't suggest requesting anything like that. However a lot of authors do still offer many of the works they publish for free. You can find these on sites like Amazon. Although most of the titles are not the most well known. I hope this helped.
