But i like it.
cut out a paw on the back of the lid and threw a rewired DSL backlight behind it.
ran those wires to the speakers int he base and viola!
after a (poorly done) coat of paint i have a sound reactive paw print on the back of my laptop, cant say ive seen it done before so here it is :D
i started to change out the indicator leds so theres a rainbow but i dont have any more 0603s.
I want to add more to it but this is what ive got for now.

Seriously that looks clean on that laptop. I was expecting something ugly when I was reading this... But it actually looks quite nice. I'm impressed! Nice backlight method too.

ive been asked about it, the problem is, to do it im limited to the size of the backlight assembly.
and all ive got is a psp 3k assembly, people want designs bigger than that.

smaller broken laptops (11-13inch) would provide a good source of large black lights

Just Look on places like Ebay for stuff like that, lots of them.

local computer stores tend to have stacks of laptops with dead lcd or boards and most of them would sell a bunch for cheap... in fact if you would like i can talk to my boss as we have like 50-60 here i may be able to get them for cheap as hell for you

You could probably talk your way into getting one for free, they are so common and have little purpose or value

thanks, but i havent got the cash to pay for those, and the shipping..
i'll have to deal with DS and PSP backlights for now
