Title: My chevy 350/357 **UPDATE**
Post by: crazy-modder on December 14, 2011, 07:11:29 PM
Well guys, i bought a chevy 350 4 bolt main with a th350 transmission a couple months ago for $700. I should have taken before pictures cause it looked like a total turd hahaha. It came with a holley street avenger 650 carb, victor junior intake, 1.5 roller rockers and some other random shiz. I tore this beast completely apart and dropped the block off at the machine shop to get bored .030 over to make it a 355. They measured it when i took it there and it was already .030 over lol but the pistons were never stamped with .030. So i had them bore it another .010 to make it 4.040 which makes it a 357. I leak tested the heads and had a couple leaky valves so i went ahead and lapped the valves and put new valve seals in. Well i just got the block back today and painted it chevy orange. Im bout to order my eagle rotating assembly in a couple weeks.

Nice job, that thing should make some decent power , word of advice MORE CARBERATION give you more top end and Less Carberation give you more out of the whole, being its a victor jr intake you will see the difference from say the 650 cfm carb to say a 750 or 780 cfm.. later down the road if you decide to change it,

Its coming along great hope you make a video so we can hear that beast when its all together. nice job good to see your busy :) hope everything at home is good to, if you need any help just ask, be glad to give a helping hand  :hifive:

Not to bust your balls but Lose the disturber cap...  causes arcing issues and miss fires.... other then that bad ass looking and nice job on the  stand to fire these beast up.

Edit... Best thing for a disturber cab get the stock cap.. drill some holes in the sides of it  lets the ions out that build with in the cap. Does the same thing as a vented cap.

Thanks for the headsup rodent! ill run it with the cap while its on the stand just cause it looks cool, and ill take it off when i put it in my truck. Theres only 4 screws holding it on so its not a big deal.
