the rumors are there again for the 720 and the ps4 is no were in site just the wii u and 720
sources have confirmed that mass production of the system's GPU will indeed begin by the end of 2012 but will not, however, be based on AMD's 7000 series Southern Islands GPU. Instead, the processor will be derived from the 6000 series, which was introduced last year. More specifically, it will be akin to the Radeon HD 6670, which offers support for DirectX11, multidisplay output, 3D and 1080p HD output. The chip currently has a market price of upwards of $79.99.
In real terms, the Xbox 720's raw graphics processing power is expected to be six times that of the Xbox 360 and will yield 20-percent greater performance than Nintendo's forthcoming console, the Wii U.
Developers are likely to receive development kits based on the system's final configuration in August. Projected pricing for the console was not provided.
due to only being a rumor i have copy and pasted this

6670 is not a bad chip, I am using a hd 6770 on this pc which is practically the same chip (1-3fps difference in games). I am happy to see they are sticking with ati and not rocking it back to nvidia, amd needs a win at the moment. Of course this is still all speculation, but the inclusion multi display on the new xbox would be sick.
My hopes for the development of this new console:
-Keep the hardware balanced, I mean don't bottleneck the system like ps3 did.
-Backwards compatibilty, both with previous gen games and carrying forward the previous LIVE accounts (achievements ect.)
-Don't change the controller.
Just thought I would put up some of the comparasions:
Current Xbox Gpu (Ati Xenos) Next Gen gpu (hd6670) ?
Engine Clock 500 Mhz 800 MHz
compute power 240 GFLOPS 768 GFLOPS
Texture filtering unit 16 24
ROPs (Render output units) 8 8
*incase anyone didn't know FLOPS (floating point operations per second)

I'm with you 100% on that, But I can't wait to hear a PR from MS about this new xbox and the real name.
-
i also heared that it might have an anti used game system
-
i would not put anything passed microsoft to do that stuff
-
It's always good news hearing a new console is coming out! With it being Xbox makes me even more excited! I would like if Microsoft actually called it the 720 but I think we all know that's hghly doubtul. The better hardware means better games graphically, FINALLY!

Lol really? release console are statistically the most unreliable and cost like 100% more than the price a year later.

Plus the new xbox might not play pre owned games...I really hope this is not true

Rumors always turn out to be let-downs. Them removing the ability to play used games would be a total bummer, however adding blu-ray is a great step forward.
-
I doubt they would remove the ability to play preowned games, however I can see more game publishers following EA's lead and putting premium codes with their games.
As for blueray, it's partially Sony technology, that will go into an xbox over Microsofts dead body. I am really interested to see MS move here, my guess is they remove the optical drive all together which would have its pros and cons.
-
i just hope its not called xbox 720, surely they can be a bit more creative.
