Title: Got a question about Controller Led's
Post by: stunned on February 21, 2012, 05:11:46 PM
So ive been putting leds on controllers for a while. but some controllers barely light up unless there is full batteries or a play-n-charge plugged in. I know the blue leds are the lowest in mcd or whatever its called. should I use a led with a brighter mcd or is there another way to make them brighter?

any help would be great

had the same problem. i think its bc the blues use more voltage even though the battery isnt dead it requires more power to power the leds..

when leds dont light to their full potential, they are not getting the needed forward voltage.

if the leds are controlled via the ground point, wouldn't it just be possible to find a higher voltage point for the positive?

the AA batterys can only supply 3V, most blue LED's have 3.3v forward voltage

You can try using high v AA batteries . They sell high v rechargeable aa batteries . Search for NiZn made. By powergenix. They need their own charger.
